CosCos's Journey

The wind beat down on the unfortunate bird's wings, the stray animal flying in blindness through the storm, or at least, if there was a bystander, it would seem that the avian had no idea where the harsh winds were taking him. Hail had started beating on his body, but he kept prostrate as he flew across the sky to whatever destination was ahead of him.

The tempest threw open the doors of one sanctuary, and the wind-rider swooped in without a second's hesitation, his small heart about to explode with the stress his flight had taken. Winding in his path around the strange room, he perches in a lone tree in an alcove past several odd booths to rest his aching body.

The next morning, no one would have known of the terrible storm that had ravaged the kingdom, the sun beating down on the roofs of the town in merry rhythm. Our forementioned protagonist woke up that cheery morning to several eyes staring up at him in amazement, having not expected an animal to be resting in their sacred tree. The group mainly consisted of women, though a few lucky men were scattered about within their ranks, and one brave soul slowly reached up into the branches, aiming to pluck the bird from the branches of the tree.

"Aaaaiiyee!"

At first thought, the shreak would have come from the young woman as the assumed prone bird flew up out of the tree to hover above them, but in actuality, she had merely stared up at it with wide eyes as the noise came from the bird itself. Shaking off the initial shock, her head tilts further back, addressing the bird with a mild yet furvent tone, "There is some reason that you were in our tree, isn't there?"

"Of course, of course! I came here from a far to come here, of course!" The bird circled around them, having suddenly regained his energy from the haneous flight the previous night. Such an action resulted in several heads tilting in the crowd, some digging out old notes from their dreams hours ago, aiming to produce some sort of interpretation. "I come to tell you about the Cosmos, the Cosmos! CosCosmos!"

"The cosmos?" answered an unnamed face in the crowd, continuing to stare at the rather confusing little animal.

"I have arrived at the Diviners nest, haven't I? The Cosmos call, the Cosmos CosCosmos! I have come to enlighten you!"

"We are the Diviners, those that live in the past, present, or future, able to seek visions of things past and to come, however, you puzzle us greatly."

"The Cosmos! Changes are at hand, many changes! I want to see changes! The Cosmos! I shall tell you everything I know, but first, I am hungry, hungry for a fruit! A tasty fruit, one that falls from a tree..."
