Diviners vs. Alignments
Most of this story is credited to Diviner Guide Rowann who helped me come up with a solution why diviners chose as they did that fatefull day in the Great Temple.
The Story:
Inside the Temple Beings from another plane dwell. Some are "monsters" some are spirits. When you walk through the door its as if stepping on to another plane. Before the temple opening the spirits were allowed to come through the plane and enter our world. Their goal was to convince those who would listen to follow their path. To have the mortals draw their powers from the other plane.
The Darker Spirits wishing to create choas would bribe with wonderful presents within the temples if only you would chose Kwi-sin. Just a few steps into the temple one can see drops of plenty on the ground. Gifts from the spirits to convince those to follow them.
The Neutral Spirits wishing to create balance would explain why you should go with them to keep the harmony. They would use reasoning and knowledge to plead their case.
The Light Spirits wishing things to be for the better and balance the scale their way would beg and plead with the mortals to make things better for the kingdoms. Giving their stories of their world hoping some would take pitty on them.
Each Spirit fully believing in its path did everything within its powers to convince the mortals of the diviner path to have things go their way.
Thus the diviners being sensitive to the words of the spirits, listened and chose the path that they believed best stated their case. Diviners are always curious and want to learn all that is available to learn.
