The Monk in the Rain
One day a monk noticed a young warrior jumping back and forth from his porch out into the rain. Curious, the monk asked the warrior what he was doing.
"I'm perfecting my lightning-fast technique. I'm practicing dodging raindrops. Look, I'm hardly wet!"
"Very impressive," said the monk "but I am even faster."
"Is that so?" the warrior responded "How about a demonstration then?"
The monk then proceeded to step out into the rain with his heavy wooden clogs and got soaking wet.
"What kind of lightning-fast technique is that?" demanded the warrior to the monk.
The monk replied "When it rains, you get wet. That is natural. Trying to avoid raindrops is a mere stunt, and a foolish waste of time."
