...My First Day of True Life...

.... It was a windy day, my first day, the day that I opened my eyes, the day that my life in the Nexus would change. I came awake, to say I saw things differently for the first time. I saw the world, the places, the buildings, the animals, the people around me differently. They were all the same mind you, none of them had changed. The old men were still old, but pretty girls still gave me chills, even the filthy dog still smelled like yesterdays stew, but they were all different in a way I had never before realized, they were....mortal.

This may seem very contradictory, for I was hardly immortal. But I recognized their hold on life was tenuous, weak, and quick to break at the first shattering of their bodies. I felt my own spirit, my soul if you wish, grow, to grip my body as never before, holding onto the ethers of the world with a stregnth I only thought the gods possessed. I knew then, that should I die, should my body break under the weight of mighty beasts, that I would not travel to the darkness of the next world. I would stay, live on in my spirit form, roam the earth until my flesh was restored and my soul rebound inside it; or until my spirit lost its stregnth, lost the will to live, and faded into the afterlife....

Thus, with this idea stone-set in my mind, I went forth into the town, to claim what others couldnt, what they would be afraid to even try to grasp...enlightenment.

As I walked through the town, I heard a voice. It wasnt harsh, or soothing, or childish as most peoples' are, it was completely different. As if a ghost spoke into my ear. I pondered this for a few seconds until I realized that I did not hear the voice, but it came into my head! I started then, jumped back in fright. I had surely thought this was death itself, or mabey a god come down to smite me for thinking I was good enough to achieve what so few others ever could. But it was neither, it was a man, a great and powerful man who had great compassion for ones such as I. It was a man named GreatGospel.

This man told me, as I stood spellbound, listening to his voice in my head, about the wonders that would fill me as I sought out enlightenment. He told me that there was a crossroads ahead of me, a major decision that would completely alter the course of my life forever. It was a four-pathed road, with four directions and different journeys. He told me about each in turn, the brave warrior, the sly rogue, the knowledgable mage, and the compassionate poet. Warrior Rouge Mage Poet, these were the paths of the Heros! the great Ones! I was amazed that this was what I could achieve. He told me that he wanted to meet me, to help me determine which of these paths would lead to my ultimate goal, to my utter desire, to that which fate has chosen for me.....so I set out, to meet the man who would forever help guide me to the gods...
